The weather in the state and the country is constantly changing. In some parts of the country, there is severe cold, while in some parts, heavy rain is being observed. Although the monsoon ended a few months ago, in some areas, the rain shows no sign of stopping. On January 1, 2026, there is also a possibility of heavy rain in some areas.

The cold wave has persisted in the state for the past month. Due to the cold winds coming from the north, the chill in the state has increased, and it has been observed that the temperature has significantly dropped in many districts. In Parbhani district, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius, while in Dhule it was 6.6 degrees Celsius, Niphad 6.8 degrees, and in Yavatmal, Ahilyanagar, Gondia, Yavatmal, and Nagpur, the temperature was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is expected to persist in Parbhani, Niphad, and Dhule for the next few days.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in many parts of the country in the coming days. Due to the influence of a new western disturbance, there has been a significant change in the weather, and snowfall and rain are expected in the high mountainous regions. Citizens need to take care of their health during this period, as constant weather changes can lead to fatigue, cold, cough, and other respiratory problems.

Notably, on the night of December 31, dense to very dense fog is likely in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh. In eastern Uttar Pradesh, the fog is expected to decrease by January 1. Additionally, there is a high likelihood of heavy rain in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, and Muzaffarabad between December 31 and January 1.

On January 1, 2026, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, while on December 31, there is a possibility of rain in some places in Rajasthan. During the same period, there is also a possibility of rain in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In short, changes in the country's weather are continuously occurring—severe cold in some places, continuous rain in others, and increasing pollution levels in some cities. Citizens are advised to take appropriate precautions according to the weather, as recommended by the Meteorological Department.
