After the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, the process of forming the government is rapidly underway, and today, Monday, February 16, an important announcement will be made. After the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, all attention is now on the selection of the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition. In the much-discussed election, the grand alliance crossed the majority mark and gained power. Subsequently, BJP's Ritu Tawde was elected as Mayor and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction)'s Sanjay Ghadi was elected as Deputy Mayor.

In today's special meeting, the official announcement of the Leader of the Opposition and the Leader of the House will be made. Traditionally, the leader of the ruling party's group is selected as the Leader of the House, while the leader of the group with the most councilors in the opposition is selected as the Leader of the Opposition. Therefore, it is speculated that BJP's group leader Ganesh Khankar is likely to be selected as the Leader of the House. Meanwhile, the name of Thackeray group's Shiv Sena group leader Kishori Pednekar is considered certain for the position of Leader of the Opposition. The mayor has received official letters from both parties, and accordingly, these names will be announced in the house. As a result, the political equations in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be finalized today.
