For the elections of 29 municipal corporations in the state, the voting process will take place on the upcoming Thursday, January 15. Against this backdrop, the campaign cannons that have been active across the state for the past few days will cool down today. Today is the last day of campaigning, and after 5:30 PM, all types of election campaigning will be prohibited. As a result, candidates' roadshows, public meetings, campaign tours, and door-to-door visits will cease.

After the application process was completed, independent candidates along with the ruling and opposition parties put in a lot of effort in the campaign. Especially in the last three days, the intensity of the campaign seemed to have increased. In each ward, candidates focused on reaching out to voters through meetings, rallies, marches, and door-to-door communication. As today is the last day, many candidates are seen visiting voters' homes since morning for a final meeting.

The political atmosphere in the state heated up in the final phase of the campaign. In Mumbai, Shiv Sena Thackeray group's leader Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray held a joint rally at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park, showcasing a strong display of power. This rally was discussed across the state. On the other hand, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a meeting in Mumbai yesterday, urging workers to be ready for the elections. These public meetings in the final phase gave the campaign a decisive turn.

Meanwhile, according to the rules of the Election Commission, campaigning is prohibited 48 hours before voting. During this period, any kind of campaigning, meetings, rallies, or influencing voters through social media is banned. Also, a dry day is observed until the counting of votes is completed. The administration has also warned that strict action will be taken against candidates and workers who violate the code of conduct. Therefore, after 5:30 this evening, the campaign cannons will cool down across the state, and voters will now calmly think about voting. Now everyone's attention is focused on the voting on January 15.
