Sharad Pawar : Will both NCPs come together? Sharad Pawar's big commentary
After the untimely demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar, rapid developments are being seen not only in the state's politics but also in the Nationalist Congress Party. Following Ajit Pawar's demise, discussions have begun regarding leadership, power, and the future direction of the party, and against this backdrop, the question of whether both factions of the Nationalist Congress Party will come together has once again come to the forefront.
Yesterday, prominent leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party, Chhagan Bhujbal, Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, and Dhananjay Munde, arrived at the Varsha residence. They held a one and a quarter hour discussion with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. After this meeting, various speculations arose in the political circles. Meanwhile, information has emerged that Sunetra Pawar is going to take the oath as Deputy Chief Minister today, and different reactions are emerging regarding this decision.
Against this backdrop, senior Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar held a press conference this morning and made a significant statement. Sharad Pawar clarified that he had no information about Sunetra Pawar's swearing-in. “This is an internal matter of their Nationalist Party. I have not been given any information about this. I learned about this issue from the media this morning,” said Sharad Pawar, taking a neutral stance on these developments.
Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar made a big revelation about the discussions of both Nationalist Congress parties coming together. He stated that positive discussions were ongoing between Ajitdada Pawar and State President Jayant Patil regarding the unification of both Nationalist Congress parties. “I was not directly involved in these discussions, but there were talks about the merger,” said Sharad Pawar. He also provided important information that the decision on the merger of both Nationalist Congress parties was to be announced on the 12th.
The decision was considered to be taken after the municipal elections. Ajitdada also wished that both Nationalist Congress parties contest the district council elections under the same symbol, namely the clock symbol, Sharad Pawar clarified. However, he acknowledged that these discussions were interrupted after the demise of Ajit Pawar.
“Ajitdada wanted both NCPs to come together, and so did we. Positive discussions were underway to maintain harmony between the two parties. Now, the final decision will be made by leaders from both sides,” Sharad Pawar has clarified, keeping future possibilities open. Therefore, it cannot be denied that significant changes may occur in the politics of the Nationalist Congress Party in the coming period.
