Leaders of the Legislative Congress Party, Vijay Wadettiwar, Group Leader of the Congress Party in the Legislative Council, Satej alias Bunty Patil, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Sushilkumar Shinde, member of the Congress Working Committee, former Minister MP Chandrakant Handore, former Minister Naseem Khan, Goa in-charge Manikrao Thackeray, All India Congress Committee Secretary Kunal Choudhary, B.M. Sandeep, former Minister Yashomati Thakur, Prafull Gudhe Patil, Deputy Leader of the Congress Legislature Party Amin Patel, former Minister Ranjit Kamble, Sunil Deshmukh, President of the Women's Congress Sandhyatai Sawalakhe, Atul Londhe, along with members of the State Selection Board were present at this meeting.
This time Harshvardhan Sapkal said that the municipal elections were announced on the 15th and at that time a meeting of the Congress party was held for planning, a strategy was decided for election management and candidate selection. A meeting of the state election board was held for 28 municipal corporations, and an important phase has been completed at the party level considering the recommendations of the district Congress committees. Ticket distribution has been discussed considering social engineering.
Discussions are ongoing with Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena as a component party of the Maha Vikas Aghadi and India Aghadi. Such instructions have been given to the leaders of the organization, and no other proposal has been received for the alliance; if such a proposal comes, it will be considered. While answering a question, Sapkal said that I am not part of the alliance discussions in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, but All India Congress Committee Secretary U.B. Venkatesh is in talks with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, and the party has entrusted the responsibility of communication to the three, said the Congress state president.
