Sunetra Pawar : “Will never abandon the legacy of Shiv, Shahu, Phule-Ambedkar” Sunetra Pawar emotional at Shivneri

On the occasion of the 396th birth anniversary of Maharashtra's revered deity Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar delivered an emotional and inspiring speech at the government ceremony held at Shivneri Fort. This marked her first public speech after taking the oath as Deputy Chief Minister. She began her speech by saying, “I bow to this sacred land and pay my respects at the feet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.” She clarified that Shiv Jayanti is not just a festival but a day to strengthen the resolve for self-rule, self-respect, and good governance. She paid tribute to all the warriors who fought valiantly for Swarajya.

Sunetra Pawar said that she had the opportunity to visit Shivneri Fort many times before; however, today is different. “This is a time to realize responsibility,” she said. She became emotional while saying that the image of Rajmata Jijabai was in front of her eyes while taking the oath. “Jijau Maa Saheb not only gave birth to Shivaji but also instilled the values of Swarajya and determination. That inspiration is our strength,” she noted.

“Standing on this motherland gives me goosebumps,” he said, reminding of the oath given by Shivaji to the Mavlas. “We are all Shivaji Maharaj's Mavlas,” was the message he conveyed. He also took an oath on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti that we will never abandon the legacy of thoughts of Shiv, Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar, which respected Dada cherished throughout his life.

Their speech received a spontaneous response from the Shiv devotees present. The atmosphere was charged with the sound of drums and cheers. Many expressed the feeling that a new era had begun in the state's political and social life.
