Central Railway: Will the local train delay end? Approval for two new railway lines from Badlapur to Karjat

Central Railway Badlapur Karjat 3rd 4th Railway Line : Good news for Central Railway passengers. Now the train journey between Badlapur and Karjat will be faster. The Ministry of Railways has approved the construction of the third and fourth railway lines between Badlapur and Karjat under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project. Previously, this project received financial approval, so now the implementation of the work will begin.

Importance of the Project

The suburban route of 32.46 km between Badlapur and Karjat will be quadrupled. The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation will implement this project. This project will greatly benefit the railway passengers in the Kalyan area.

Benefits to Passengers

With the construction of the third and fourth tracks, passengers at stations like Badlapur, Vangani, Shelu, Neral, Bhivpuri Road, and Karjat will experience significant relief. Currently, there are only two railway tracks on this route, causing local trains to stop when long-distance trains pass, leading to congestion and wasted time for passengers. This also halted the increase in local train services. However, with the approval of the third and fourth tracks, passengers will have access to more train services, and traffic will become smoother.

When will the work be completed?

These new corridors will improve the traffic of local and long-distance trains, and there will be no obstacles for freight transport as well. The work will start soon. After the land acquisition is completed, the work is expected to be completed in three to four years.
