Class 11 Admission Process Postponed Again: First Merit List to be Announced on June 26

The Class 11 (First Year Junior College) admission process has once again been derailed due to persistent technical issues, prompting the Directorate of Education to postpone the release of the first merit list to June 26. The delay has caused significant frustration among students and parents, many of whom had hoped for a smoother and faster process this year.

Originally, the first merit list was scheduled to be released today, June 10. However, repeated system glitches have forced authorities to push back the schedule, throwing the entire timeline into disarray.

This year, in an effort to expedite the Class 11 admissions, the Maharashtra State Board released the SSC (Class 10) results 15 days earlier than usual, on May 21. The intention was to fast-track the admission process and avoid bottlenecks.

However, technical issues plagued the system from the outset. Although the online registration portal was supposed to go live shortly after the SSC results, the actual application process only began on May 26. Students and parents reported numerous issues while filling out the forms, with frequent server crashes and form submission errors.

The registration process was eventually completed by June 7, and the first merit list was originally scheduled for June 10. But continued technical problems have once again stalled the process, prompting the education department to revise the schedule.

Revised Class 11 Admission Schedule

  • Final Merit List and Zero Round Allotment: June 11

  • Zero Round Entry: June 12 to June 14

  • Regular Round 1 Allotment: June 17

  • Merit List Announcement: June 26

  • College Admission Window: June 27 to July 3

  • Vacancy List for Round 2: July 5

The repeated delays have sparked outrage among student organizations, parent groups, and educators. Many have accused the education department of poor planning and a lack of accountability.

“This delay has played with the emotions of lakhs of students who are already under academic pressure,” said one parent representative.

Teacher-counselors have also voiced their concerns, demanding urgent implementation of the "Ladke Vidyarthi Yojana", a scheme aimed at easing the admission burden on economically disadvantaged students. They have also urged authorities to waive all admission-related fees this year, given the continued disruption and stress faced by students.
