Adulteration was found in samples of cough medicine from a company in Tamil Nadu, and now this medicine has been banned. Following this incident, health systems across the country have become alert. The states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala have immediately banned the sale and distribution of 'ColdRif' syrup.

The central government has instructed all states to take precautions, and testing of contaminated medicine samples is underway. The Maharashtra government has also made a significant decision. The Food and Civil Supplies Department of Maharashtra has instructed to immediately stop the use of 'ColdRif' syrup.

It has now been reported that another child has died due to this toxic cough syrup. The name of this little one is Dhani Dehariya. The child died during treatment at a government hospital in Nagpur, and was admitted in a critical condition from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh for treatment in Nagpur. It is reported that the child was undergoing treatment due to kidney failure and brain swelling. The number of deaths during treatment in Nagpur due to this cough syrup has reached ten.
