Pune : 63 Unsafe Bridges in District to Be Demolished

After the flyover accident at Kundmala in Maval Taluka, a decision was made to conduct a structural audit of all flyovers in Pune district. Against this backdrop, the structural audit of a total of 627 flyovers in the district has been completed.

According to this report, 63 flyovers were found to be in extremely dangerous condition and all these bridges will be demolished, as informed by District Collector Jitendra Dudi. He also clarified that this decision was made without compromising on the safety of citizens.

In addition, repair and maintenance work will be carried out on more than 80 flyovers. The district administration has instructed all relevant departments to keep appropriate preparations regarding the provision of necessary funds, machinery, and manpower. This entire process is expected to help increase the safety of roads and bridges in Pune district and create a direction to prevent such accidents, as expressed by the administration.
