(Panvel) Trusting friendship turned out to be quite costly for a woman. In the Kamothe area of Panvel, it has come to light that a friend actually stole gold from her own friend's house. Savita had given the house key to her friend Monica, who lived opposite her, while going to the market. However, when Savita returned, she was shocked. The gold jewellery in the house was missing, and the door was locked just as before.

Initially, Monica denied having entered the house. So Savita lodged a complaint at the Kamothe police station. The police checked the CCTV footage but found nothing visible. Later, when the CCTV was sent for further examination, the investigation revealed that the DVR had been tampered with.

Based on suspicion, the police took Monica Dighe into custody and questioned her, during which she confessed to the crime. The police have seized all the gold from her. The court has sentenced her to four days of police custody.
