Raigad Rain Breaking: Heavy Rains Lash Raigad district ; Youth Dies After Lightning Strike

Torrential rains have battered the Raigad district over the past two days, leading to a significant rise in water levels across river basins. Authorities have issued an orange alert for the region, warning residents to remain cautious amid the ongoing downpour. Tragically, the severe weather claimed a life on Monday when a 25-year-old youth, Roshan Kachru Kalekar, was struck by lightning while working in a field. Kalekar, a resident of Mouje Birdole village in Karjat taluka, was killed instantly.

The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Neral Police Station. Officer-in-Charge Shivaji Dhawale visited the site immediately, and further legal procedures are currently underway. With the rainfall showing no signs of letting up, local authorities have urged citizens to avoid open areas during thunderstorms and to stay updated with weather advisories.
