(Mumbai) In many places in Mumbai, you can see garbage thrown anywhere. Heaps of garbage can be seen on the roads. People spit anywhere. Against this backdrop, there will now be a deterrent for those who cause uncleanliness.
It has been informed that strict punitive action will be taken against citizens and establishments spreading uncleanliness in public places.
A fine of 250 rupees for spitting in public places, 500 rupees for littering, and 200 rupees for not segregating wet and dry waste will be imposed, whereas previously a fine of 200 rupees was imposed for spitting and littering. However, the municipal corporation has now decided to increase the amount of the fine.
