Ashadhi Wari 2025: No VIP Darshan Passes Allowed, Warns Solapur District Magistrate
In a significant move aimed at ensuring fairness and smooth management during the upcoming Ashadhi Wari, Solapur District Collector Kumar Ashirwad has issued strict instructions prohibiting the issuance of VIP darshan passes for the Vitthal-Rakhumai temple in Pandharpur.
As lakhs of Warkaris converge in the temple town to seek darshan of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rakhumai, the district administration is focusing on crowd control and equal access. In an official letter addressed to key authorities including the Provincial Officer, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and the Executive Officer of the Temple Committee the Collector emphasized that no special passes should be issued for VIP darshan during the yatra.
The letter highlights the inconvenience caused to ordinary devotees, who often have to wait for long hours due to priority given to VIPs. The District Collector has reminded the officials of a 2010 state government directive, which prohibits special darshan privileges on significant religious days and festivals.
To ensure smooth and inclusive darshan for all, authorities have been instructed to implement a well-planned queue system that accommodates the large number of pilgrims expected during the Wari.
Furthermore, the District Magistrate has issued a stern warning that any violation of this order will attract legal action under the National Disaster Management Act. The directive underscores the administration’s commitment to maintaining order and upholding the spirit of equality during the yatra.
