The first Ashwa Ringan Sohala (ceremonial horse ring) of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi procession was held with deep devotion and traditional fervor on Saturday at Belwadi in Indapur taluka. The village reverberated with the rhythmic beats of tal-mridunga, devotional chants of “Vitthal! Vitthal!” and the vibrant participation of enthusiastic Warkaris.

The sacred Palkhi entered Belwadi in the early hours of the morning. As it arrived, villagers welcomed it with great excitement and reverence. The Ashwa Ringan began shortly thereafter, featuring the renowned horses of Akshay Machale, which galloped around the ceremonial arena with grace and grandeur.

The spiritual atmosphere intensified with the participation of Talkaris, Veena Karis, Tulsi Vrindavan Dharak women, and Zhendekaris—each group bringing their unique devotional expression to the celebration. Their participation further elevated the emotional and religious ambiance of the event.

Devotees of all ages—many overwhelmed with the emotion of devotion—entered the arena with unbridled enthusiasm, reflecting the timeless spirit of the Wari. The well-disciplined and vibrant ceremony left everyone present immersed in bhakti (devotion).

The Palkhi reached the Ashwa Ringan site around 7 a.m., amid resounding chants of “Gyanoba Mauli Tukaram.” Maharashtra Minister Dattatray Bharne performed a traditional puja of the revered horse before the ceremony commenced. After the Ashwa Ringan, the Palkhi made a brief halt at the Hanuman Temple in the village.
