(BJP Nagpur) Voting for the municipal elections will take place on January 15, 2026, and the counting will be on January 16, 2026, with elections for 2869 seats. Against this backdrop, it is observed that major action has been taken by BJP in Nagpur.

The BJP has taken major action in the municipal elections for breach of party discipline, with information that 32 people contesting against official candidates have been suspended. BJP city president Dayashankar Tiwari has decided to suspend the office bearers for six years.

The suspended include former mayor Archana Dehankar's husband Vinayak Dehankar, and former corporator Deepak Chaudhary has also been suspended from the party. Action has been taken against those working against the party's candidates, and suspension action has been taken against workers and candidates from various wards. A total of 32 people from wards 1 to 34 have been expelled from the party, with a warning that rebellion in the municipal elections will not be tolerated.
