(NCP) The bugle for municipal elections has sounded and all political parties are now preparing. Elections for 29 municipal corporations in the state, including Mumbai and Pune, have been announced.
Voting for the municipal elections will take place on January 15, 2026, and the counting will be on January 16, 2026, for 2869 seats. Against this backdrop, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for self-reliance in Pimpri Chinchwad.
Meanwhile, both factions of the Nationalist Congress Party are ready to contest together, but it is reported that some conditions have been set by Sharad Pawar's faction. A meeting was held between Ajit Pawar's election chief Nana Kate and Sunil Gawhane, a member of Sharad Pawar's election core committee, in the city.
