Air pollution: Orders to stop work for builders of 53 under-construction buildings in Mumbai municipal area

(Air pollution) It is being observed that building construction is being affected by air pollution. The level of pollution has increased. This has created a threat to citizens' health, and against this backdrop, it is reported that orders have now been issued to halt work for builders of 53 under-construction buildings in the Mumbai municipal area.

On October 15, 2025, guidelines containing 28 points for air pollution control were announced. The municipality has ordered the closure of 17 construction sites in the Worli Prabhadevi and Siddharth Nagar areas, 5 construction sites in the Byculla Mazgaon area, and 31 construction sites in the Malad West area.
