Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was sworn in as a minister in the Maharashtra cabinet today during a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. His induction comes after days of speculation, as Bhujbal was reportedly upset over being left out of the cabinet earlier.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, along with several ministers and key leaders of the ruling MahaYuti alliance.

Following the oath-taking, Bhujbal gave his first public reaction, expressing gratitude toward the party leadership and senior government officials.

"I sincerely thank the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Hon. Fadnavis Saheb, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde Saheb, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajitdada Pawar, as well as our party leaders Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare. I also thank the Prime Minister, Modi Saheb, and Amitbhai Shah," Bhujbal said.

He also addressed the responsibilities that lie ahead: "Now the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers will decide on the portfolios. Whatever responsibilities are given to me, I will work on them with full dedication."

Highlighting the impact of recent unseasonal rains, Bhujbal added, "There has been immense damage in Nashik district and other parts of the state. I will speak with the Chief Minister and concerned authorities about providing immediate relief to the affected farmers. It is crucial that help reaches them as soon as possible."

Bhujbal is expected to be assigned the Food and Civil Supplies portfolio, which was previously held by fellow NCP leader Dhananjay Munde.
