Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Crime: Foiled Kidnapping Attempt in Broad Daylight Thanks to Boy’s Scream
A shocking incident of an attempted child kidnapping has sent shockwaves through the Mukundwadi area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. A 7-year-old boy narrowly escaped abduction in broad daylight on Friday afternoon, thanks to his quick thinking and loud screams that alerted local residents. The incident took place in the New ST Colony when two unidentified individuals on a scooty attempted to kidnap Akshit Ajay Sanap, a second-grade student. Akshit was walking home alone from school as classes had ended early on the first day — at 2:30 p.m. instead of the usual 5:30 p.m.
According to police, one of the two assailants tried to forcefully lift the child onto the scooter. However, Akshit’s loud screams drew the attention of nearby residents, who rushed to the scene. Startled by the sudden commotion, the suspects fled immediately on their vehicle. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras in the area. Akshit’s relatives promptly filed a complaint at the Mukundwadi Police Station, and a case has been registered against two unidentified persons. Police have launched a full investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
This incident has raised serious concerns among parents and local citizens, especially since the attempted kidnapping occurred close to a school and in a residential area. Many are now demanding stricter security measures around schools and residential colonies to ensure the safety of children. Authorities have assured that patrolling in the area will be increased and schools will be instructed to enforce stricter safety protocols for students.
