In a significant development in the high-profile drug smuggling case linked to the Mylon pharmaceutical company, police have frozen eight bank accounts belonging to scrap metal trader Baban Khan and his family. The action follows the recent discovery of illegal trafficking of chemical substances like Mephedrone (MD) derived from the pharmaceutical waste of the company.

The information was confirmed by Police Inspector Sambhaji Pawar, who is leading the investigation.

As part of the probe, police recorded the statements of four production managers on Friday. Additionally, the project head of Mylon Pharmaceuticals has been summoned to appear for questioning on Saturday, along with relevant documents. The revelations have sent shockwaves through the local industrial estate, exposing a dangerous channel of narcotics trafficking using pharmaceutical waste from a globally recognized company.

In a critical operation conducted on Saturday, Assistant Inspectors Geeta Bagwade and Manoj Kumar Shinde intercepted two trucks in the Sajapur area. The vehicles were loaded with waste material from Mylon Pharmaceuticals, and upon inspection, plastic bags containing suspicious chemical powders were discovered. Preliminary forensic analysis suggests the powder is used in the production of MD (Mephedrone), a synthetic stimulant banned under narcotics law.

So far, police have arrested Baban Khan, his two sons Kaleem Khan and Salim Khan, along with truck drivers Shafiful Rahman Tafazzul Hussain and Raj Azure. All the accused are currently in police custody and are undergoing intense interrogation as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the smuggling network.
