Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Election; Women's activists' hunger strike due to not receiving candidacy

(Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) Voting for the municipal election will take place on January 15, 2026, and counting will occur on January 16, 2026, with the election being held for 2869 seats. Candidates could submit their nomination forms for the municipal election until December 30.

Today, on December 31, the candidates' applications will be scrutinized. Candidates can withdraw their applications until January 2, 2026. Yesterday, many expressed dissatisfaction as their candidacies were rejected. Confusion was observed in many places after the candidacies were denied.

Against this backdrop, women are on a hunger strike at the BJP office due to not being given candidacy. Varsha Salunkhe and Divya Marathe, BJP officials, are on a hunger strike, and since last night, BJP women workers have been on strike.
