Due to a drop in minimum temperatures in the state, there is a cold wave in some places. It is also observed that the cold has increased in the rest of the state. The weather department has predicted a gradual increase in the minimum temperature in the state. However, it is also predicted that the cold will persist. The cold is increasing in North India, leading to increased cold waves in the state. Continuous changes in the atmosphere are being observed. Along with this, air pollution has increased significantly, causing health problems for citizens. In some parts of the country, severe cold is being witnessed, while in some places, heavy rain is ongoing. Currently, there is rain in some parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala.

The minimum temperature in Niphad taluka of Nashik has dropped. Due to the cold winds coming from the north, Niphad taluka has become chilly. The minimum temperature recorded was 4.07 degrees Celsius at Rui in the taluka and 4.5 degrees Celsius at the wheat research center in Kundewadi. Due to this increasing cold, mist formed over the Shivnadi in Lasalgaon. The mist over the water created a picturesque view in the area. The cold is also affecting agricultural crops. It is harmful to grapes but beneficial for wheat.

A temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dhule. Parbhani had a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Godiya, Nashik, Malegaon, Jalgaon, Pune, and Nagpur. In Beed, Parbhani, Dhule, and Niphad, the cold is expected to intensify in the coming days. In Mumbai, the cold is also felt in the morning. In the afternoon, the heat of the sun can be seen.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, light to heavy rain may occur in many areas over the next 72 hours. Along with the rain, there is also a possibility of snowfall in some places. Heavy rain may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, and Ladakh on December 21. Rain may also occur in some parts of Punjab on December 22. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in many states for the next two days. Dense fog is likely to occur in Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Bihar.
