The cold wave has intensified across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and the weather department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in seven districts. Due to the cold winds blowing from the north, the temperature has dropped, and in many places, it has fallen to 10 degrees. A cold wave is expected to spread in the districts of Dhule, Nashik, Nandurbar, Ahilyanagar, Pune, Solapur, and Jalgaon, and the minimum temperature across the state has gone below 15 degrees.

In Mumbai, a chill has set in since early Friday morning, with the minimum temperature reaching 15 degrees on Saturday. There will be a slight increase on Sunday, and the temperature will remain around 18 degrees, but the cold wave is expected to persist until December 31, according to the weather department. In central Maharashtra, especially, the intensity of the cold will increase, and citizens will shiver.

Due to the increase in chill towards the north, a cold wave is sweeping the state, resulting in severe cold. It is expected to remain cold for a month. The chill has increased in Mumbai in the early morning. A temperature of 15 degrees has been recorded. The weather is expected to remain cold until December 31, with the mercury expected to stay low, according to the weather department.

In Jalgaon district, the cold wave has been intense since last week, with the minimum temperature dropping to 7 degrees, causing distress to the residents. Due to the severity of the cold, two deaths have occurred. Ravindra Tengri Prasad (49, resident of Uttar Pradesh), who returned home after the night shift from Govind Industries Mat Factory in MIDC, died in his sleep in the room. On the other hand, the body of Vaman Bhagwan Lakde (76, resident of Raipur, Buldhana) was found on the platform of Khanderao Temple in Nashirabad. Medical sources have initially speculated that both cases were deaths due to cold.
