Pune Municipal Visitor Center Limits Service to Once a Week
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has revised the schedule of its visitor center, a platform created for citizens to voice their grievances directly to civic authorities. The service, which was previously available twice a week (Monday and Thursday), will now be accessible only once a week, as per the latest order issued by Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram.
According to the revised plan, the Commissioner will personally be present on the first Monday of every month, while on the remaining Mondays, the Additional Commissioner will attend to the citizens’ issues. The aim of this change is to streamline the complaint resolution process while maintaining a dedicated time slot for public interaction. Officials from key departments such as encroachment, construction permits, water supply, and property tax will also be present during these sessions to address specific complaints on the spot.
The visitor center will remain open every Monday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, during which citizens can present their grievances and seek updates on pending issues. The PMC has stated that this initiative ensures transparency and accountability in public service. This program was initially launched during the tenure of former Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, and it received a positive response from the public. Recognizing its effectiveness, Commissioner Ram has opted to continue the initiative in a revised format, with an emphasis on timely redressal and citizen engagement.
