Badlapur Incident: Congress' aggressive stance after Badlapur incident; Harshvardhan Sapkal's direct warning to the ruling party
Scroll down to read the news in brief...
The incident of sexual assault on a young girl in Badlapur has sparked a wave of outrage, with Congress state president Harshvardhan Sapkal accusing that criminals are running rampant in Maharashtra, launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He stated that Fadnavis is the most inactive, inefficient, and irresponsible Chief Minister Maharashtra has had so far, questioning the government's handling of law and order.
Speaking about this case, Harshvardhan Sapkal said, how do the state's Chief Minister, Home Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister sleep when atrocities are happening to four-five-year-old girls? A similar sexual assault on young schoolgirls occurred in Badlapur a year and a half ago. In that incident, no action was taken against the president and secretary of the school associated with BJP and the Sangh. It was only after the public took to the streets in intense protest that the government was jolted awake. However, the state has seen that there is no trace of that case now. Due to the administration not working, the morale of the criminals has increased. In this new case that happened in Badlapur yesterday, the government should take immediate strict action, otherwise, the public will take to the streets, warned Sapkal.
Sapkal also raised the issue of the suicide of Dr. Sampada Munde from Phaltan Sub-District Hospital in Satara district. Despite being forced to commit suicide due to the harassment by a former BJP MP, no action was taken in this case. They allege that Chief Minister Fadnavis gave a clean chit without any investigation. It has been revealed that people associated with the BJP are involved in many incidents such as the Ankita Bhandari case, the Unnao rape case, and sexual harassment of female wrestlers, yet no action is taken, they said.
In the BJP grand alliance government, there is free rein for brokers, sand mafia, drug mafia, and land mafia, while the safety of women and girls is left to fate, said Harshvardhan Sapkal finally. This statement has heated up the political atmosphere in the state, and the Congress is calling for a protest against the government.
