Cash Seized: Over Rs 1.84 Crore Found in Dhule Government Rest House
A major political controversy has erupted in Dhule after a significant amount of unaccounted cash was discovered at the government rest house. The discovery follows a serious allegation made by Thackeray group leader and former MLA Anil Gote, who claimed that ₹5 crore had been brought to the rest house to bribe MLAs on the legislature’s Estimates Committee.
Gote had specifically demanded that room number 102 of the rest house be opened and searched in the presence of senior officials, including the District Collector or the Superintendent of Police. Acting on his demand, law enforcement authorities carried out a search of the room, during which they reportedly found ₹1,84,84,200 in cash.
Early Morning Counting and Legal Action
Sources indicate that the counting of the seized cash continued through the night and concluded around 4 a.m. today. Following the counting, the process of filing a case has been initiated at the Dhule City Police Station.
The source of the money and its intended use remain under investigation. Officials have not yet confirmed if the cash is directly linked to the alleged bribery scheme. However, the incident has sparked a wave of political unrest in the region, with demands for a thorough inquiry into the matter.
