Dr. Deepak Tilak, Lokmanya Tilak's Great-Grandson, Dies at 74
Lokmanya Tilak's great-grandson and editor of Kesari newspaper, Dr. Deepak Tilak, passed away due to old age at his residence in Pune early this morning. He was 74 years old. His demise has created a significant void in Pune's cultural, educational, and journalism fields.
His body will be kept for public viewing at Tilakwada (Kesariwada) from 8 to 11 this morning. His funeral will be held at Vaikunth crematorium at 12 noon.
Dr. Tilak made significant contributions in the fields of journalism, education, and social work.
Through the historic newspaper 'Kesari', he spread the message of patriotism, value-based thinking, and public education. In 2021, he received special recognition from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Japanese government for the promotion of the Japanese language. He also served as the chairman of the Lokmanya Tilak National Award Committee.
