An important change has been made in the entry process to avoid increasing crowds in the ministry. From August 15, entry to the ministry will be granted only to those who have registered on the 'DG Entry' app. Entry will be given to officials, employees, journalists, and visitors only after completing the face verification process through this app.

The General Administration Department had already implemented face verification systems and online registration facilities to prevent unnecessary crowding in the ministry. However, people from rural areas who did not have smartphones or faced difficulties using the app were obtaining paper entry passes from the window near the entrance. Long queues were forming at these windows after noon.

Now, this offline facility will be completely closed, and it will be mandatory to download the 'DG Entry' app on mobile and register with a ten-digit mobile number for entry into the ministry. Deputy Secretary of the Home Department, Chetan Nikam, stated that work is underway to develop an alternative system for individuals without smartphones, ensuring no inconvenience to anyone.

Previously, during cabinet meetings or on the days of major events, there used to be long queues for entry into the ministry. The administration believes that this new method will help control the crowd.
