FDA Raids in Pune: Adulterated Goods Worth ₹2 Crore Seized

( Pune ) Major action has been taken by the Food and Drug Administration in Pune. It is reported that adulterated stock worth 2 crores has been seized in this action. Inspection of 353 food establishments has been conducted and improvement notices have been issued to 196 establishments.

Under the guidance of Food and Drug Administration Minister Narhari Jhirwal, this stock has been seized in a special campaign conducted by the department in view of public health and public interest under the campaign "Festival of Maharashtra - Resolution for Food Safety". During the festive season, if there is any suspicion of adulteration in food items, citizens should contact the toll-free number 1800222365, as urged by Suresh Annapure, Joint Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, Pune Division.

In this operation, a total of 654 food samples of items like khoya, sweet mawa, cow ghee, edible oil, milk, paneer, butter, and vanaspati, bhagar, etc., were taken for analysis. It is reported that action has been initiated against the guilty samples as per the law.
