Free Sand Royalty for House Construction to Be Delivered at Home: Chandrashekhar Bawankule
In a significant move aimed at easing the house construction process for beneficiaries, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that free sand royalty receipts will be delivered directly to beneficiaries' homes. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting held in the ministry hall under his chairmanship.
Under this new directive, group development officers (GDOs) will be responsible for issuing royalty receipts for sand obtained from government sand depots to those constructing homes under government schemes. Importantly, if these receipts are not delivered within eight days, the Tehsildar will be held accountable, and action will be initiated against responsible officers upon receiving complaints.
Minister Bawankule emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned 30 lakh houses for Maharashtra, and the state government has adopted a policy of providing free sand for the construction of these houses. However, he acknowledged the increasing number of complaints regarding the non-receipt of sand by the beneficiaries.
"It is essential that sand royalty receipts are delivered to the doorstep of every eligible household, and this entire process should be recorded meticulously," said Bawankule. He further warned that no complaints should arise during the upcoming monsoon session, and any lapses on the part of officials will invite strict action.
