Homeopathic Doctors Hunger Strike at Azad Maidan

(Homeopathic Doctor) Homeopathic doctors can no longer practice allopathic treatments. Due to strong opposition from 'IMA', the decision taken by the Medical Education and Drugs Department on June 30 has been revoked. As a result, the allopathy registration of homeopathic doctors has been canceled, and the unauthorized permission for homeopathic doctors to prescribe allopathic medicines has been denied. 

The state government should withdraw the new decision regarding homeopathy doctors, for which allopathy doctor organizations expressed strong protest. Initially, BHMS doctors who completed the CCMP (Certificate Course in Modern Pharmacology) were allowed to register with MMC and practice some degree of allopathy treatment. However, IMA and other medical organizations showed serious opposition.

The state government had started a one-year CCMP course to allow homeopathy doctors to practice allopathy. After passing this exam, it was decided to register with the Maharashtra Medical Council. This registration was to be done from July 15; however, due to the sudden suspension of this decision, homeopathy doctors will start an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan from today. This hunger strike will be conducted through the Maharashtra United Homeopathic Doctors Front.
