(Hotel and Restaurant Strike) Hotels and restaurants in Maharashtra will be closed today. The government has imposed excessive taxes on the licensed hotel and restaurant industry in Maharashtra. A 15% increase in license fees has been implemented for 2025-26.

Against the backdrop of increased taxes on alcohol, license fees, and excessive excise duty hikes, the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) has called for a strike today (July 14). The tax increase imposed by the government is unjust, and there has been strong protest against it.

In protest, today (July 14), more than 20,000 hotels and restaurants in the state have given a warning of closure. As a protest against all this, the Association of Hotels and Restaurants (AHAR) has announced a strike. It is reported that around 20,000 hotel and restaurant owners will participate in this statewide shutdown.
