The e-KYC confusion among beneficiary women in the Chief Minister's My Beloved Sister scheme is currently a topic of discussion. Although the government has made e-KYC mandatory to prevent incorrect beneficiaries, many eligible women have been deprived of benefits due to process flaws and technical difficulties. Now, although the task of verification has been assigned to Anganwadi workers to conduct home visits, the Anganwadi workers' union has strongly opposed this. As a result, there is a possibility of the January installment being delayed.

In this welfare scheme of the state government, eligible women receive a financial benefit of one and a half thousand rupees per month. However, as it was revealed that some citizens had taken bogus benefits, e-KYC was made mandatory. Due to not completing KYC or errors in it, many women's benefits were stopped. In some districts including Jalgaon, a decision was made to conduct a physical verification of beneficiaries whose e-KYC was not completed. For this, Anganwadi workers were assigned the task of visiting homes.

The Anganwadi workers' union has opposed this work. The union stated that their main work is related to child welfare and nutrition, and they cannot take on such additional responsibilities. Due to this impasse, the district council administration and the union have come face to face, and the e-KYC process has stalled. This will directly affect millions of beneficiary women, who fear their January installment might be delayed.

The government needs to take immediate measures to address this confusion. There is still no clarity from the administration on whether an alternative arrangement will be made to resolve the Anganwadi workers' opposition. This issue of the beloved sisters' rights should be resolved quickly, otherwise, a question mark will be raised on the scheme.
