As the revered Ashadhi Wari 2025 pilgrimage approaches, the Maharashtra state government has intensified preparations to ensure the safety and comfort of the lakhs of Warkaris expected to participate, especially in light of predicted heavy rainfall across the state.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that 36 waterproof pavilions have already been erected at key palanquin halting points, with provisions to increase this number as needed. "Given the likelihood of intense rains, these shelters will help protect devotees along the Wari route," he stated.

Focusing on the well-being of women Warkaris, the Chief Minister also revealed plans to establish ‘Hirkani Kach’ areas—safe spaces inspired by the model used in Prayagraj—and separate sanitation facilities for women. "These initiatives will ensure safety, dignity, and cleanliness for our female devotees," he said.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde elaborated on the broader scope of facilities being provided, especially in the context of the ongoing monsoon. "The government is committed to minimizing inconvenience for Warkaris, while also honoring the traditions and instructions of the respected Dindis (palanquins),” he said.

Key amenities include:

  • Clean drinking water

  • Uninterrupted electricity supply

  • Waterproof tents

  • Mobile toilets

  • Enhanced healthcare services

The Health Department has been instructed to deploy sufficient ambulances and pay special attention to women's health. Furthermore, road maintenance teams have been directed to prevent mud accumulation and ensure the Wari route remains accessible and safe throughout the pilgrimage.
