Maharashtra Weather Update: Heavy Rains and Gusty Winds Forecast Across the State
After a brief lull in the first week of June, heavy rains are expected to return to Maharashtra, accompanied by gusty winds. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert predicting intense rainfall activity in several parts of the state over the next two to three days.
Over the past few days, various regions have experienced sporadic showers, but the scorching heat has persisted in many areas due to inconsistent rainfall. However, with the latest weather developments, a change in conditions is expected.
The IMD stated that while pre-monsoon showers that began in May brought significant rainfall to some regions, the momentum had slowed by early June. Despite continued cloudy skies and light to moderate rain in parts of the state, temperatures have remained high, contributing to discomfort among citizens.
The department now warns of a fresh spell of heavy downpours, which may also be accompanied by strong, gusty winds. Agricultural areas that have already been affected by intermittent heavy rains in recent weeks may face further challenges if rainfall intensifies.
Authorities have urged residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions during this period. Travelers, especially those in hilly or flood-prone regions, are advised to monitor local updates and avoid unnecessary movement during severe weather.
