The cold weather continues to affect most parts of the state. A significant drop in minimum temperatures is being recorded in interior Maharashtra, with temperatures of 11.4 degrees in Ahmednagar, 11 degrees in Jeur, and 11.8 degrees Celsius in Mohol. The cold is also being felt in Nashik (12.6), Satara (12.6), Mahabaleshwar (13.1), and Jalgaon (13.5). In Marathwada, the minimum temperature has stabilized at 14 degrees in Aurangabad and Osmanabad, while 16 degrees have been recorded in Beed.
The weather is cloudy in the Konkan and Mumbai regions. In the morning, there was light fog and scattered showers in Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and the Mumbai-Thane area. In the afternoon, the sky in Mumbai will remain partly cloudy, with moderate to strong winds expected along the coast. Light rain is forecast in some areas. The maximum temperature in Mumbai will be between 28 to 32 degrees and the minimum temperature will be between 18 to 22 degrees Celsius.
The cold effect in the Mumbai metropolis is mild. The minimum temperature recorded was 19.3 degrees in Colaba and 17.7 degrees in Santacruz. The temperature in the Thane area remained around 20 degrees, and the weather remained dry throughout the day due to sunshine and light winds. The cloud cover will increase over the next two days, but significant rainfall is not expected.
According to retired meteorologist Manikrao Khule, the minimum temperature will gradually increase in 11 districts until February 6, and the cold will decrease. However, in the remaining 25 districts, the cold will persist until January 29. The cold will decrease between January 30 and February 6, but there is a possibility of an increase in cold again from the second week of February, except in North Maharashtra. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be cloudy weather and scattered rain in the areas of Sangli, Solapur, Satara, Ahmednagar, Beed, Dharashiv, Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalgaon, Buldhana, and Amravati.
