Maha Shivaratri holds a unique significance in Indian culture and traditions, leading to crowds of devotees at hundreds of Shiva temples across the country, where abhishekam, puja, and other religious programs are organized. This year, for the festival being celebrated on February 15, 2026, travelers heading to Konkan will receive great relief, as Konkan Railway, in coordination with Central Railway, has decided to run a special train between Mumbai CSMT and Sawantwadi Road.

Special Train Schedule

Train number 01129 Mumbai CSMT-Sawantwadi Road special train will depart from Mumbai CSMT at 12:20 AM on February 14 (Saturday), February 19 (Thursday), and February 21 (Saturday) and will arrive at Sawantwadi Road at 12:30 PM on the same day.

For the return journey, train number 01130 Sawantwadi Road-Mumbai CSMT special train will depart from Sawantwadi Road at 5:20 PM on the same dates and will reach Mumbai CSMT at 4:05 AM the next day. This train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, and Kudal stations.

Train Composition and Booking

This special train will have a total of 22 coaches, including 1 two-tier AC, 5 three-tier AC, 10 sleeper, 4 general, and 2 SLR coaches. For detailed information about stops and timings, passengers should visit the website www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in, while booking for train number 01130 will start on February 10, 2026, on all Passenger Reservation Systems (PRS), the internet, and the IRCTC website, as informed by Konkan Railway. This special train will reduce the extra crowd of devotees traveling to Konkan during Mahashivratri and make the journey easier.
