Raj Thackeray: MNS President Raj Thackeray's Letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; What's in the Letter?
Scroll down to read the news in brief...
(Raj Thackeray) MNS President Raj Thackeray has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In this letter, he has stated that he is writing to draw your attention to a very important and serious issue. The rate of child abductions and disappearances is increasing in Maharashtra. According to NCRB statistics, this rate has increased by nearly 30% from 2021 to 2024. Interstate gangs have formed that abduct children and then employ them or force them to beg. These gangs are blatantly abducting children, and it is unclear what action the government is taking on this. Maharashtra does not need a government response stating that certain cases of child abductions are filed and a certain percentage of children are found and safely returned to their families. The NCRB figures indicate how many parents have filed complaints with the police, but do thousands of such complaints even reach the police? And even if the children are rescued, what about the trauma they experience during that time? How do these gangs that abduct children operate so openly and with such impunity?
Doesn't the government feel like taking some drastic action on this? Today we see children begging on the streets, at stations, at bus stands, who are they? Are the people begging with them really their parents? Doesn't the government feel like ordering an investigation or even a DNA test if necessary? Today, children are being kidnapped in this state, young girls are being kidnapped, lands in Maharashtra are being grabbed, shouldn't there be a discussion in the legislature on this, shouldn't the administration be compelled to take some steps unanimously by the ruling and opposition parties?
Along with this, he further said, "Is the winter session just a provision to approve supplementary demands to patch up the government's failed budget? Often in the session, the situation is such that ministers are not present in the house to answer. Therefore, expecting a discussion in the legislature on topics like missing children or missing girls seems unreasonable. But this is Maharashtra's expectation. In fact, the central government should have formed a task force on this issue by talking to all the states, but it seems that the central government, which is currently heatedly discussing Vande Mataram, is not hearing the cries of mothers! Anyway, today, as the Chief Minister and Home Minister of the state, Maharashtra expects you to not only bring this up for discussion in the session but also take some concrete action." This is what Raj Thackeray mentioned in the letter.
