Mumbai: Mother and Child Die in BEST Bus Collision; Driver Detained

A shocking incident occurred in Mumbai where a mother and child died in a BEST bus collision. This incident took place near the Wadala Pencil Bus Station area, where a woman and a young child standing by the roadside waiting for a taxi were hit by the BEST bus, resulting in their death.

The names of the deceased mother and son are Elojius Selvaraj (27) and Antony Selvaraj (7). Due to heavy rain, schools were dismissed early, so the mother went to the school to pick up her son. In this case, the bus driver has now been taken into custody by the police, and a case of negligence has been filed against the bus driver Shivaji Nagarpene (40).

It has been revealed in the preliminary investigation that the accident occurred due to a faulty bus brake, and further action will be taken after the bus report is received, it has been stated.
