An unfortunate incident has emerged from the Malvani area. A gas cylinder explosion caused a severe fire in a chawl, resulting in seven people being seriously injured. This incident occurred in the morning in a chawl near Bharatmata School, close to AC Masjid near Malvani Gate No. 8.
The incident was reported to the BMC fire brigade at 9:25 AM. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade, police, electricity distribution company employees, ambulance, and BMC ward staff rushed to the scene. The fire that spread from the first floor destroyed the main valve of the cylinder, gas stove, LPG cylinder, asbestos sheet, household items, food items, and mattresses. The fire brigade completely brought the fire under control by 9:42 AM.
Seven people were seriously injured in the explosion, of which four were admitted to Aadhar Hospital and three to Care Hospital. The condition of some of the injured remains critical. The police and fire brigade are investigating the incident, and the investigation will continue until the cause is revealed.
