The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the license of the canteen operator at the Akashvani MLA Residence after finding substandard food during a surprise inspection. The action follows a controversy that erupted after a video surfaced showing MLA Sanjay Gaikwad assaulting a canteen employee.

The incident came to light after a video went viral yesterday, capturing MLA Sanjay Gaikwad physically assaulting a staff member at the MLA residence canteen. The footage drew sharp criticism from the public and opposition leaders alike.

According to reports, Gaikwad had ordered a meal from the canteen and later alleged that the dal and rice served were spoiled and emitted a foul odor. The MLA expressed his anger over the quality of food and took matters into his own hands—an act that has since been widely condemned.

In response to the incident and allegations regarding food quality, a team from the Food and Drug Administration promptly visited the canteen for an inspection. During their investigation, the FDA officials examined the premises and sampled the food being served.

Following the inspection, the FDA concluded that the food being provided was indeed of substandard quality. As a result, the canteen operator’s license was suspended for violating food safety standards.
