Commuters on Mumbai’s Western and Central Railway lines are set to face significant disruptions this weekend due to scheduled megablocks. Western Railway authorities have announced the cancellation of 163 local trains as part of a planned 36-hour block for infrastructure-related work.

Western Railway Block Details

The megablock on Western Railway will be implemented from 2:00 PM on Saturday to 1:00 AM on Monday. The block will affect the Fifth Line and Yard Line, primarily for dismantling the elevated reservation office at Kandivali Yard.

  • Saturday, June 1: 73 local train services will be cancelled.

  • Sunday, June 2: 89 local train services will be cancelled.

  • The block will impact both up and down suburban routes.

Passengers are advised to check train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Central Railway Block on Sunday

Meanwhile, Central Railway will also conduct a megablock on Sunday, June 2, between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar on the up and down slow lines.

  • The block will be in effect from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM.

  • Local trains scheduled to depart between 10:48 AM and 3:45 PM will be diverted to the fast line during the block.

  • Stations such as Masjid Bunder, Sandhurst Road, Chinchpokli, and Curry Road will not have local train halts during this period.

Harbour Line Disruption

A separate megablock will also affect the Harbour Line on Sunday, June 2, from 11:40 AM to 4:40 PM. During this time:

  • Services between CSMT and Wadala Road, Vashi to Belapur–Panvel, and CSMT to Bandra–Goregaon will remain suspended.

  • Train services on these routes will be unavailable from 11:16 AM to 4:47 PM.
