Mumbai Local Railway Mega Block Today on All Three Lines: Check Schedule Before You Travel
Commuters in Mumbai are advised to plan their travel carefully today as a mega block has been announced across all three local railway lines — Central, Harbour, and Western. The block has been implemented to facilitate essential engineering and maintenance work.
On the Western Railway, a mega block is scheduled between Vasai Road and Bhayandar from 12:30 a.m. on Saturday midnight to 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. During this period, slow local trains will be diverted to the fast lines, which may cause delays and adjustments to usual schedules.
The Central Railway will experience a block from 10:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Local trains departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 9:34 a.m. and 3:03 p.m. will be diverted to the slow corridor between Thane and Kalyan stations.
On the Harbour line, a block will be in effect between Wadala and Mankhurd. However, during this time, passengers are permitted to use services on the Trans-Harbour line from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Railway officials have urged passengers to check the detailed schedule before stepping out and to make alternative arrangements if necessary. Commuters should also expect some crowding and delays as services are rerouted and rescheduled across the network.
