In Brief
Monorail disrupted in Wadala area
Monorail glitch due to technical reasons
Passengers evacuated from the stalled monorail
(Mumbai Monorail) Heavy rains in Mumbai have caused traffic congestion, affecting monorail services like the railways. On Monday morning, the monorail running on the Wadala route suddenly stalled, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.
Since midnight, rain had intensified in the city and suburbs. During the morning rush hour, passengers were evacuated from the monorail when it broke down. They were later shifted to another monorail. The stalled train was coupled and taken to the car shed, and work is underway to fix the technical fault.
This is the third major breakdown in the Mumbai Monorail in the past month. Previously, the service had suddenly stopped twice, causing inconvenience to passengers. These frequent breakdowns have led to dissatisfaction among passengers.
The monorail is considered an important alternative transportation system for Mumbaikars. However, due to continuous technical difficulties, questions have arisen about its planning and maintenance. Passengers are demanding that the administration take concrete measures to avoid such obstacles during the monsoon.
