BMC: Mumbai Municipal Corporation to Issue Notice to Duplicate Voters

(BMC) In the backdrop of the upcoming elections, it is evident that preparations are underway. In this context, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation will now keep a close watch on duplicate voters in Mumbai and is reported to be issuing notices to them.

Voters whose names appear more than once in the voter list will be issued a notice and asked to fill out Annexure 1. The municipal corporation's assistant commissioner will conduct a survey in this regard and it is reported that records of more than 1.1 million duplicate voters will be checked.

It will be determined at which center the concerned voter will cast their vote, and an undertaking will also be taken on the day of voting. It is reported that the State Election Commission has ordered the municipal corporation to remove the names of duplicate voters from the voter list.
