Heavy rain has started in Mumbai's western suburbs including Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar, Vile Parle, Santacruz, and Bandra from early morning today. As the rain intensity is currently moderate, there is no report of waterlogging in low-lying areas. However, trains on the Central and Western railway lines are running a few minutes late, and there is no significant impact on road traffic.

Due to the low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal, there is a possibility of rain in many parts of Maharashtra. Rain may occur today in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Nashik, Satara, Sangli, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded, Parbhani, Beed, Solapur, Jalgaon, and Gadchiroli.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the intensity of rain will increase in Konkan and central Maharashtra between August 3 and 15. A rain warning has been issued for Marathwada on August 14 and 15, and an orange alert has been issued for Amravati, Chandrapur, and Yavatmal districts in Vidarbha. A yellow alert has been issued for the remaining districts.

After midnight in Mumbai, the intensity of the rain has increased, and there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in some parts of the city in the next few hours. After a few days of respite, the rain has returned, and citizens are urged to remain alert.
