The education sector has also been affected by the heavy rain in the state. Mumbai University has decided to postpone all exams scheduled for today, Tuesday (August 19), for all its affiliated colleges, educational institutions, and distance and online education centers (CDOE).

The Disaster Management Department of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation had declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the wake of heavy rains. Accordingly, the university has also postponed the scheduled exams, providing relief to the students.

According to the circular issued by Dr. Pooja Raundale, Director of the University's Examination and Evaluation Board, these exams will now be held on August 23. Students are advised to keep an eye on the university's official website for the updated schedule.

Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a red alert for Mumbai and the Konkan region. The low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards Gujarat, affecting Mumbai and its surroundings. Therefore, the weather department has predicted heavy rainfall on Tuesday as well.
