Heavy rains have once again unleashed chaos in Nagpur, triggering widespread flooding across multiple parts of the city. With relentless downpours over the past 24 hours, the region is facing a grave flood situation, putting both lives and property at risk.

The incessant rainfall has caused the Nagnadi, Pohra Nadi, and Piuli Nadi rivers to overflow, worsening the crisis. According to local authorities, more than 50 residential settlements have been inundated, while 23 major roads across the city now resemble flowing rivers.

In a swift rescue operation, 47 residents who were trapped in floodwaters have been evacuated and moved to safer locations. However, the disaster has not come without casualties — 11 animals have perished, and preliminary assessments report that 453 houses have suffered varying degrees of damage.

A flood alert has been issued across the affected areas, and both the municipal administration and disaster management teams are actively monitoring the situation. Authorities have urged citizens to stay indoors and avoid flood-prone zones.
