Nagpur Marbat : Strict Police Arrangements for Procession; Surveillance with Drone Cameras
On August 23, the historic Black-Yellow Marbat procession will commence from Jagnath Budhwari in Nagpur. This procession, with a 135-year tradition, is an important part of the city's cultural identity. This year, the police administration has made extensive preparations to ensure the procession proceeds peacefully.
Prioritizing security, 3,000 police personnel will be deployed. Additionally, the entire route will be monitored live through CCTV and drone cameras. Immediate action will be taken on suspicious activities.
The main attraction of the procession is the embrace of the black-yellow Marbat starting from Maskasath and Jagnath on Wednesday at Shaheed Chowk. A large crowd gathers at this place. Therefore, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravindra Kumar Singhal inspected the site and reviewed the security arrangements, giving necessary instructions to the officers.
Special importance has been given to crowd management and traffic control. Traffic police have determined alternative routes, and independent planning has been done to ensure smooth traffic during the procession. Quick Response Team (QRT), fire brigade, and ambulance services have been kept ready for emergency situations.
The police administration has appealed to citizens to cooperate for the peaceful conduct of the festival and to ignore rumors.
